This game was inspired by a love for Korean fried chicken culture and Greek Mythology; combining the two together resulted in Chicarus! The meaning of course comes from the myth of Icarus using glued wings to fly but when he gets too close to the sun, his wings disintegrate and he falls into the water. By adding a chicken as the protagonist instead of a figure from Greek mythology, there is a nice twist to the story!

The Chicarus device uses a potentiometer to control the chicken’s movement on the screen. There is a gear underneath the dial which connects to two other gears with chicken wings on them. The idea is that when the dial is turned, the chicken wings flap!!

The potentiometer rotates right and left which translates to the chicken moving left and right across the screen. The suns that fall down are the obstacles and the player has to avoid them. When the suns have been hit three times, all lives are lost and the game is over. From the menu screen, a simple click of the mouse is required to go into game mode. At this stage, there are no advances in the levels and degree of difficulty but that is something that will be added in the future.
